SummaryThe TNW Romanian Startup Awards celebrate the best startups, entrepreneurs and investors in the country. As of today, the public will be able to nominate and vote via social media and help decide the winners over 7 categories. On February 5th 2013, the winners are announced online and that same evening,The Next Web will host a meetup in Bucharest in association with Geekcelerator to celebrate. Join us at the meetup!

Online voting with offline awards ceremony
The Startup Awards are a public choice award, where the people decide on who will win the awards. It starts with nominating your favourite startups, four weeks before the event. Three weeks later, the professional TNW Jury, existing of Ziad M. Kane, CEO of TheNextWeb.com, TNW co-founder Patrick de Laive and editors Robin Wauters and Martin Bryant, selects max. 5 companies or people per category that will move on to the voting round. During the voting round, which lasts one week, anybody can vote for their favorites via our social voting platform.
The winners of the 7 categories are announced online on February 5th. The same night, TNW and Geekcelerator host a meetup at Mojo in Bucharest. Here the startup community will gather for drinks, chats and to celebrate the winners and nominees.
The categories are Startup of the Year, Best (Co-)Founder, Best Web app, Best Mobile App, Best Design, Best User Experience, and Best Investor. The meetup by TNW co-founder, Patrick de Laive and Geekcelerator.

The TNW Startup Awards are a series of 12 local awards in Europe's tech hubs. In each country, an online competition where the public can nominate and vote their favourite will determine the hottest startups, founders and investors.
