Identifying the hottest startups in Germany
"Startups have always played an important role in TNW events - each year we welcome many promising young companies to our conferences. It's great to finally meet those startups in their own tech hub as we move through Europe to celebrate entrepreneurship. With TNW German Startup Awards we're looking for the best entrepreneurial minds of Germany and aiming to bring the tech scene together for a great night", says Patrick de Laive, co-founder of The Next Web.

Online voting with offline awards ceremony
The Startup Awards are a public choice award, where the people decide on who will win the awards. It starts with nominating your favourite startups, four weeks before the event. Three weeks later, the professional TNW Jury, existing of Ziad M. Kane, CEO of TheNextWeb.com, TNW co-founder Patrick de Laive and editors Robin Wauters and Martin Bryant, selects max. 5 companies or people per category that will move on to the voting round. During the voting round, which lasts one week, anybody can vote for their favorites via our social voting platform.

The winners of the 7 categories are announced at the Startup Awards Ceremony on January 15th in Berlin. Here the startup community will gather for drinks, chats and to celebrate the winners and nominees.
