Identifying the hottest startups in Denmark
"Startups have always played an important role in TNW events. Each year we welcome many promising companies at TNW Conferences, but now we are also coming to Europe's tech-hubs, like Copenhagen, to discover the best of Denmark and put tech entrepreneurs in the spotlight. It's great to see initiatives like CONNECT Denmarks' Pitch training and screening day and we love co-working spaces like Foundershouse, where creativity meets know-how and innovation is stimulated. Young and more experienced tech entrepreneurs in one hub. These are leading examples on if you collaborate, you 'll put tech entrepreneurship and your city on the map", says Patrick de Laive, co-founder of The Next Web.

Online competition: public nominating and voting
The TNW Danish Startup Awards are a public choice award, where the people decide on who will win the awards. It starts with nominating your favourite startups through our platform. Three weeks later, the TNW jury select max. 5 companies or people per category who will be going to the voting round. During the voting round, which lasts one week, anybody can vote for their favourites via the social voting platform or e-mail.
The companies who get the most votes in their category will receive a ticket to TNW Conference Europe and of course, eternal fame.

The winners of the 7 categories are announced online February 27th. The next day, the startup community will gather for drinks, chats and to celebrate the winners and nominees at a meetup in Copenhagen (location TBA) where TNW editor Martin Bryant, Foundershouse, CONNECT Denmark and others of the Danish tech scene will be present. Our partner Paymill shows their support to the Startup Community by chipping in on the bar bill, so the first drinks are covered for by Paymill and TNW.

Seven categories

The categories are Startup of the Year, Best (Co-)Founder, Best Web app, Best Mobile App, Best Design, Best E-commerce, and Best Investor. You can nominate your favourites until February 20th.
