Identifying the hottest startups in the UK
"Startups have always played an important role in TNW events - each year we welcome many promising young companies to our conferences. It's great to finally meet those startups in their own tech hub as we move through Europe to celebrate entrepreneurship. With TNW UK Startup Awards we're looking for the best entrepreneurial minds of the UK and aiming to bring the tech scene together for a great night", says Patrick de Laive, co-founder of The Next Web.

Online voting with offline awards ceremony
The Startup Awards are a public choice award, where the people decide on who will win the awards. It starts with nominating your favourite startups, four weeks before the event. Three weeks later, the professional TNW Jury, existing of Zee M. Kane, CEO of TheNextWeb.com, TNW co-founder Patrick de Laive and editors Robin Wauters and Martin Bryant, selects max. 5 companies or people per category that will move on to the voting round. During the voting round, which lasts one week, anybody can vote for their favorites via our social voting platform.

The winners of the 7 categories are announced online on January 24th and the winners, nominees and others of the UK startup community will gather for a meetup that same night organized with Clarity PR in London. TNW CEO Zee M. Kane and editor Jamillah Knowles are representing TNW.

Seven categories

The categories are Startup of the Year, Best (Co-)Founder, Best Web app, Best Mobile App, Best Design, Best User Experience, and Best Investor. The awards will be handed out by TNW co-founder, Patrick de Laive and.
